Translate it

Replace the term with five concrete details

Person: who delivers the service?

Action: what exactly happens?

Duration: how long and how often?

Price: included or separately charged?

Boundary: hospitality, teaching, coaching or care?

Exit: can it be declined or stopped?

Example question

Ask for a sentence without the label

“Please describe what contraindication means in this program, including the staff member, activity, duration, price and any reason a guest should not participate.”

Common questions

Before you decide

Is contraindication a regulated term?

The label alone may not be regulated. Rules depend on the actual service, provider role and jurisdiction.

Why ask for a plain-language description?

Concrete actions, roles and prices are easier to verify than broad wellness vocabulary.

Where can I compare related terms?

Use the CareAtlas comparison desk and ask the provider to define every service in writing.
